DID JESUS REALLY COME BACK FROM THE DEAD?

Did Jesus really come back from the dead? Or is that just a fairy tale we tell our children – kind of like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy?

Besides, you say, even if it actually did happen, how could we ever know for sure with two thousand years of history obscuring the clues? I doubt the CSI team would know where to begin. After all, those first century people weren’t very scientific or as well-educated like we are today. Maybe what they witnessed was simply a resuscitation and they mistook it for a resurrection. Jesus then lived for several more years afterwards and finally He died for good just like the rest of us!

That’s the thinking of many skeptics today. “It’s impossible to come to any solid conclusion about the resurrection of Jesus after the passage of so much time.”

If you think that, you need to join us at THE GATHERING this week and next when we take a look at “The Case for the Resurrection of Christ.” You’ll be surprised to learn how many active clues still exist.

How important is it to believe in the resurrection of Jesus? According to the New Testament, it is the eternally most important thing you can believe. “For if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” Romans 10:9-11

If you just read that verse, you are not accountable to God to search until you find the truth. So join us this week. You can find our meeting time and place on THE GATHERING tab at the top of the page. There you can also read the outline of what’s planned for this Sunday and the calendar of coming events in May.

Though we boldly proclaim the truth of Christ to everyone we meet, we also love others unconditionally with the supernatural love of Jesus Christ. Let us show that love to you as well. We’ll be looking for you!
