Cheryl’s Health Update – December 9, 2011

Merry Christmas, Dear Friends!

May God bless each one of you for your faithful prayers, financial support, meals, cards, rides, cleaning and handyman help, words of encouragement, and all the other things you’ve done to help us these past 6 months.

Cheryl had her pre-op exam yesterday. Her surgeons found no sign of a tumor, which means your prayers, the chemotherapy, and the radiation treatments have done their work! She is now scheduled to have surgery on December 19 to remove the organs and tissues affected by the cancer and radiation.

What we ask you to pray for now is the staph infection she is currently fighting in her abdomen where the drainage tube is. She is on antibiotics to heal it. Pray also for the pain and swelling in her abdomen and right leg to be relieved by the operation and the occupational therapy she will have following surgery.

We can’t thank you enough for being our friends!

Our Love in Christ,

Gary and Cheryl

  2. Merry Christmas to your family! Our precious savior has blessed us all with being able to join in with your family and believe Jesus for His perfect will to be done. I praise Him for allowing me to be a part as we have watched, prayed and believed. Thanking Him for both of you as we come into this joyful season. I love the picture of Cheryl and can’t wait for her return to ‘the gathering’.

    • Thank you for your words from God! I can’t wait for her to return either. Pray that it will be soon – that she will recover quickly from the surgery and be back sitting beside. She is by far my better half!

  3. Thank you for letting us know what to pray for. We love you guys and thank God for the strength He has given Cheryl through this.

  4. Linda and I just want to thank you for your love. We knew you both loved us from the beginning. I remember you, Gary, listening for a long while when I poured out my heart and I remember your tears. I remember how you humbled yourself in our prayer group. I remember how your wife prayed full of the Holy Spirit with tears for the lost. I remember the day you were asked to leave. I was sick and saddened because we love you both. You are both precious to Linda and I. We know that both of you are led by and filled with the Holy Spirit. Thanks for your leadership, example and love. We continue to pray for your beautiful wife. The first thing I noticed about your wife was the kindness and compassion in her eyes. Linda and I just wanted you to know that even if we are not attending the Gathering currently that you are certainly not forgotten. You have led Linda and I by example. Thanks for your leadership. Thanks for your example. Thanks for loving us. We find your love precious and deep. We long for your fellowship. May God be glorified in your life as you meet your challenges in His power and might. God bless both of you. If you need ANYTHING call us.

    • We love you, Bruce and Linda! The love of God flows through you like a river of life. Thanks for refreshing us with your Spirit-filled words! I know Sunday afternoons are bad for you. Maybe we should think about starting something in addition on Sunday mornings. Pray about it with us! Love you guys, Gary & Cheryl

  5. Take a moment if you have one to listen to this song based on the Truth of Romans 5:6-8 and reflect on that moment He spoke to your heart and said, “I can change that for My glory.” All glory belongs to the King of kings and Lord of lords. The answer to the question “Who Am I?” would be simply that I am a person loved deeply by my Creator. This song will remind you of how deeply He loves each and every one of us. Be blessed.
